About the Event
Dr. Erin Winstanley is currently an Associate Professor of the School of Medicine at West Virginia University. Her research focuses on reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with the opioid epidemic, as well as the use of information technology to improve access and quality of behavioral health services. Dr. Winstanley has a long history of working with different agencies and public health institutes to tackle the opioid epidemic, including but not limited to the analyses of policies related to the opioid epidemic using prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) data, the development of intervention(s) to improve the safe use, storage, and disposal of prescription opioids, and the delivery of early intervention and treatment to people with substance use disorders and those at risk of developing these disorders (SBIRT) through the school-based screening program.
